Our Cattle
Our cattle were the introduction to our passion for hobby farming. We maintain a small herd of around 20 black Angus heifers and cows. Our girls have been carefully selected from various local farms and we aim to improve their progency through artificial insemination. Semen straws are sourced each year from champion angus bulls from all around the globe, this allows us to improve the blood lines and genetics in our herd for the future and for you.
We have a resident angus bull, Roger, who we adopted from our good friends at Winavon Farm in 2021 and is used predominantly as a cover to our ai programs. He’s a gentle giant, very docile and easy to work with, produces low birth weight calves and is just an all round easy calver.
Big plans! We have some pretty exciting plans for 2024 to explore and create a fold of highland cattle through embryo transfer of some high class highland genetics available to us. These genetics have come from fully imported blood lines from both Dam and Sire, the fertilised embryos will be placed into 5 of our most fertile Angus cows as recipient carriers. Watch this space for more updates on our fold for the future!
